 Stereoreel: Micphones

As of this Monday, Stereoreel has officially gone “Back to the Studio,” though it feels like we have never left, but in a good way. The day could have only been more productive if we had managed to all sit in rocking chairs on the front porch, each one with a full belly of pizza. However, such are the things that dreams are made of.

Dustin and I spent the majority of the day testing new miking techniques (see picture) and laying down drum tracks for some hot new songs. Meanwhile, Caleb sat on the front porch writing songs and eating all the pizza, as Ethan would often switch back and forth between a few projects he was working on. Sometimes he’d be working on the new video of our first “photoshoot” (awww), and sometimes he’d change it up and take a nap (double awww).

The result of today’s endeavor has taught us a few things:
A) Pizza may be faster than Chipotle, but far less satisfying in the long run.
B) Burritos yield different creative results than those results produced by pizza.
C) The size of two large pizzas are vastly disproportionate to the combined volume of 4 large male stomachs, yet greater than or equal to the combined square footage of those same 4 males’ wallets.

Look out for all the new stuff coming your way! It may just blind you in astonishing amazement! Fortunately, it’s mostly music.

Oh, the t-shirt ideas just keep coming.

Here’s a submission by Ariel. (One of our favorite 8-year-olds.)

Alright, as some of you may well know Ethan used to be a drummer. Now that he is a bassist his kit has been donated to the Stereoreel research and development department.

Seth and I spent the afternoon smashing speaker cabinets with a hammer and soldering all the refuse back together. I am now in possession of a lovely little bassdrum, which is fully equipped with a reverse wired speaker for ultra low tones and a small contact mic for awesome things like distortion and chorus. Stay tuned for the awesomeness that will surely come from this little invention.

Here’s one I think you should really see…

Ethan’s public school education is paying off.

Thanks graphic design class.

Dustin’s been slaving over a hot laptop.

Oh, and so has Seth, and Ethan…well we all have. Read Band Bio. Look at the pictures. They’re real pretty. But if you’ve found this post, you’ve found this website, and if you’ve found this website…you know all of this. Oh, one last thing. Please sign up for the mailing list. We promise not to sell your email address to the grieving wife of some recently deceased African tycoon who needs your help to transfer $500,000,000 to the United States. You’ll get a cut, of course. Now if she could kindly have your bank account number.

And book us for a gig. For the time being we work for gas money…or less. (Or more, of course.)
